The Samurai Champloo (サムライチャンプルー) cosplayers that stole my heart… Thank you SO much for bringing back so many memories. T_T The anachronisms, the animation, the music, the historical knowledge that it made me search for. I fell in love with Edo Period, japanese mythology and (ukiyo-e) painting. I fell in love with the director (Shinichiro Watanabe) and THEN with Cowboy Bebop. Masaru Gotsubo’s manga. Nakazawa’s designs. Shing02. SO much jazz knowledge from Nujabes’ samples. Thank you, Jun. どうもありがとうございます!Mystline still makes me cry. I fell so much in love it took me 9 months to write a tribute song over The Final View. It took a poem’s time, and hopefully it has the beauty of one… And the dopeness of yours. T_T Hope you and Dilla will listen to it next February 7. There hasn’t been a greek tribute (that sounded ancient) so it will be my honor. R.I.P. Samurai who smells of Sunflowers.

Anime-Alley storenvy has been brought to my attention in that they are selling my free! artwork off as charms WITHOUT my permission. This is really appalling, I have been forced to remove my illustration off all sites or edit a large watermark over it to protect my work since I simply cannot trust the community not to pull this sort of crap.

It’s common sense not to steal what does not belong to you. It is not the artists fault for wanting to share their work only to have them ripped off by people without a shred of decency. (Do not blame the shopkeeper for what the thief does).

After a bit of digging by my friend and I we found a lot of their items may also have been stolen from various artists and official artwork. PLEASE check if your artwork has also been stolen or if you can recognize the artists. I can absolutely attest that they stole my work and used without permission, and the fact that some of the items (particularly their Free! -Pic-Lil! - Pic-Lil! trading strap) are being sold at super cheap prices when they are very rare and expensive to obtain officially in Japan should alarm you.

Please do not support their thievery and profit of other people’s work and cheap imitation of official merchandize. Their products are also shoddy and poor in quality as seen in the photos.

If you can reblog this post, I would really appreciate this information being spread. Apparently they can be found at conventions and I’m just disappointed to know that they could be selling stolen artwork.

If you can email storenvy with a link to this post, or with any other information you have found to have their storefront taken down permanently that would be great. I do not want them to just simply take down my item and walk away with stealing other people’s work again, then nothing would be solved. Thank you so much.

I really like Solid Snake, especially in Smash Bros. A bit disappointed that he’s currently MIA. Here’s to hoping that he returns!

I’ve seen some posts making this guilt trip of how the people who like to dress up as a sugar skull or the Catrina for halloween or whatever is racist and cultural appropriation.

Nah, it’s completely fine, as long as you are not totally ignorant about it or disrespectful, we Mexicans also celebrate Halloween, we break the piñata (which origin is chinese) And celebrate thanksgiving.

So it’s kinda hypocrate to say it’s cultural appropriation (which is not either way) cultures are beautiful and should/could be shared, there are indeed some aspects that can be racist and or appropriating, however dressing up as a sugar skull on Halloween is not in any way offensive.

It’s not like the sugar skull represents us, represents the deceased, and actually it’s just a joyful way to represent them. And the Catrina is just a social critic which became an icon later on for the day of the dead and Mexico.

Be open minded, don’t even hate, and share this rich culture we have with the rest of humanity, chill.
